Sardinia and Corsica

The program session will run for 9 days. Please find a sample itinerary below for an idea of what to expect:

August 30th: Residents arrive in Sardinia and meet at 5:00 p.m. for a casual orientation and welcome dinner. We stay the night on land.

August 31st: The morning and afternoon are free to explore the local area. We board the boat at 5pm. Captain and program administrators conduct a safety orientation. We stay the night onboard in the marina.

September 1-6th: Residents, captains, and administrators sail and live aboard the boat. We'll stop at secluded islands for exploration and creative reflection as well as historic ports where residents will engage with local communities through special exhibitions, projects, and events.

September 7th: Disembark in the morning and say goodbye. Offshore will make every effort to help residents coordinate their transportation and travel home.

Additional itinerary details will be announced to residents upon acceptance.

Sardinia and Corsica are situated in the center of the western Mediterranean. Between them lies the Strait of Bonifacio, which divides the Tyrrhenian and west Mediterranean Seas. Though not far apart, these two islands have significant historical and cultural differences. Corsica was sold to Paris by Genoa in 1769 and exhibits French influence in both language and cuisine. Sardinia is Italy’s largest island, and though there’s much evidence of rustic Italian life, the island has its own distinct character and even its own language. Our itinerary will focus on the northeastern coast of Sardinia and the southern coast of Corsica. This region is ideal for artistic inspiration with emerald green waters, rugged and wild coastlines, notable archaeological sites, and unique cultural traditions.
